Green Shirt or US $? Why Such Hockey

Google Images
It's a situation no sportsperson should ever find himself in, by playing in the World Series Hockey tournament at the risk of forfeiting his Green shirt. Caught between the insecurities stemming from advancing age, finance and limited opportunities of playing competitive hockey in Pakistan have forced the player to choose WSH even at cost of national representation in olympics.

PHF Website
The PHF’s stance was in accordance with the FIH's wishes that since the WSH was being organised by the unrecognised hockey body, the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF), it was illegal. This dilemma reminds me Indian Cricket League recently and Kerry Packer in 70s and responses made by our national heroes of the most popular and sponsored game in Pakistan.  They were also banned but later an apology letter allows them to wear Green Caps. History might repeat itself in this case.

Financially cricketers are more stable than hockey player and many other Olympians who live their end life below poverty life and suffers for basics necessities of life. Haven't they ditch their caps so what if hockey players roll over few bucks in their bank accounts controversially but legally.

We have to understand Hockey is a team game not indiviual ( gone are the days where we were blessed by individual talents like flying horse etc.)  and as PHF claims so loudly we are enrich with natural talent and we are grooming talent in our academies so its the best time to cash these talent and shut the mouth of their critics who tease the entire PHF management in form or other.

Sources saying IHF may delay WSH for some days but the fight between wealth and patriotism will make history  sooner or later.
