The Dart: A gift from Skip Jack

I received a call from a university friend asking, in fact ordering, for joining them on visit to Gadani, Ship-breaking Yard. It was a casual promise that I made to be with on this time long ago, in fact I was curious to visit that place. So I just pack and went to his home where we stay in night and then left for Gadani in the morning where  Skip Jack was waiting for us.

As soon as we step up on the ship, we act like Pirates, searching every single cabin every single room and trying to pick any thing that we thought was worthy for us. I was interested in visiting this fantasy land. I can recall every single film in which ship was used as prop.

My moment of shout was when I visited Kitchen. I saw a packs of Coffee and a round shaped official sized DART BOARD with so many darts were on the floor. I was like I want it at any cost. My friend showing his generosity gifts that to me. Along with gym dumbbells, coffee, Sound proof headphones and many other stuff. I was bringing dart (or I should say)" The Dart" to home. I didn't even know How to play it but I was bringing "The Dart", I didn't even know where I will fix it but I was bringing "The Dart", No one in the house knows about his game but I was bringing "The Dart".

Youtube, Google and Twitter were the only friends told me what The Dart is? the other added on work in it " What the heck dart is? but now The Dart  has became an essential ingredient in my family gathering, Weekly some time Bi-weekly family championships are held at my place. Our famliy's Phil Tyalor is my mum. I sometime doubt she formerly knows How to play dart -oh- The dart?

There are many reason I recommend The Dart

          DARTING IS CHEAP

Normal dart are available at a cost as low as PKR 70/-. You can even buy a good quality second hand dart board from Bolton Market or Shersah Bazar, Karachi, Pakistan or if you are lucky enough find a friend who can gift it to. Electronic dart is more safe in those places that were afraid to have people/children throwing pointed objects around at home now had an option.

YOU CAN HAVE A SET-UP AT HOME

Compared to other "indoor sports" it's NOTHING to setup a dart board at home. A typical board and you can score on a piece of paper and use a piece of masking tape for a throw line. Know anywhere you can get a pool table, table tennis, basket ball or hand football setup that cheap? It also doesn't take up any room, you can even use the space for other things when not playing darts.

          ANYONE CAN PLAY

Unlike most sports, anybody, any size, any age, any weight, with almost any handicap can play darts, and be GOOD at it. I've seen my family member from 8 to 75 play and play well at that. All it takes is practice.

          ANY NUMBER OF PEOPLE CAN PLAY

No fight for turn! There are games that may be played by any number of people, from 1 to 100. The only difference it makes is how long the games are going to take. Personally, I don't recommend more than 10 people on one dart board, but you could if you wanted to.

          IT HAS SOME REAL BENEFITS

Darts develops hand/eye coordination, patience, motor-control, sportsmanship and is extremely relaxing.
